Storm Warning

I wanted to capture the dramatic, rapid shifts of our coastal weather in this piece, focusing on a heavy squall moving across the water. The vertical composition allowed me to emphasise the sheer scale of the sky, where deep indigo and ink-blue rain clouds sweep overhead to cast a dark shadow over the distant horizon. Below the storm, I painted a breaking band of light illuminating the shoreline, turning the shallow water into a brilliant expanse of pale aquamarine against the shifting sands.
