Where the storm meets the sea
Although thousands of holiday makers every year see Cornwall as a place of warm sunshine, golden beaches and azure seas, the county has a darker, more primeval side.
During the winter and early spring Penwith is lashed by furious storms and high seas, these are times which really bring home to you the power of the Atlantic ocean.
I feel that this is one of the reasons Cornwall maintains an air of ancient times so tangible you can almost touch it, it pervades the minds and souls of those who live near to the sea.
