Point of Ayr Lighthouse

If you're a regular follower of my art you'll know I do love a lighthouse, there's something both majestic and mysterious about them.

I often depict my local lighthouse, Godrevy, I love the way the island seems to be 'broken' into two parts, but when I saw a photo of 'Point of Ayr' in Wales it really appealed to me, especially the intricate ironwork at the top.

It's taken me quite a while to do justice to that ironwork and the weather beaten walls but I'm really really pleased with the result.

It's painted in oils on a 23 x 30 x 3 cm box canvas.
